It's possible that a typo caused the Dynamic Island redesign iPhone 18 leaks. Did the recent leaks about Dynamic Island and the redesigned selfie camera on the iPhone 18 Pro get lost in translation? A new leaker says yes
It's possible that a typo caused the Dynamic Island redesign iPhone 18 leaks.
Rumors about Apple's plans for the iPhone 18 and fold able iPhone have been circulating for the past eight months, with the big iPhone event in September just eight months away. In the past few days, Apple fans have been talking about one leak in particular, which suggested big changes were coming to the controversial Dynamic Island.
The iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max were said to have an
under-display Face ID that would replace the pill-shaped Dynamic Island and
house the selfie camera in a smaller "hole-punch" cutout.
Instant Digital, a leaker on the China-based social media app
Weibo, explained that Western media outlets misinterpreted the leak from last
week, which came from another Weibo-based leaker named Digital Chat Station.
Instant Digital claims that while Apple is relocating an
infrared Face ID component under the display, this would not affect the overall
design of the display itself.
Some English-language coverage appears to have misinterpreted
early reports about the Face ID components from Chinese and Korean sources as a
front hole-punch camera on the left side of the device.
As MacRumors points out, another Apple leaker on X known as
ShrimpApplePro has also corroborated Instant Digital's explanation by leaking
an alleged photo of the new Face ID and selfie camera assembly.
In a nutshell, the death of the Dynamic Island has been
greatly exaggerated in reports. Even though it is slightly smaller on the new
iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, it appears that the pill-shaped Dynamic Island will
still be present.
The phone
with a real 10,001 mAh battery is extremely light.
Frustrated that your phone's battery lasts barely a day? That is fixed by Realme's most recent
smartphone.
It's called the Realme P4 Power 5G, and it has a humongous,
10,001mAh battery inside. The Galaxy S25
Ultra, Samsung's flagship phone, has a battery capacity of 5,000 mAh for
comparison.
According to Realme's estimates, this translates into 932.6
hours of standby time, 32.5 hours of YouTube streaming time, and 185.7 hours of
music listening time.
What about consistent use? Realme claimed in a press release
that the battery offers "week-long endurance."
When it comes to the phone's overall battery life, Realme is
surprisingly modest in some of its promotional materials, claiming that it will
last 1.5 days between charges. However, the company asserts that
"other" phones must be charged twice daily, so we assume they are
referring to extremely high usage here.
Big batteries on smartphones are not new. I dug through
Mashable's archive as back as 2019 to find an Energizer phone with an 18,000mAh
battery. However, Realme's P4 Power 5G
stands out in a major way: it looks like a regular phone and only weighs 219
grams.
We couldn't find the P4 Power 5G's exact dimensions, but
judging by Realme's promo pics, it isn't that much thicker than its
predecessor, the Realme P4 5G, which boasts a 7.58-millimeter body (and, by the
way, has a 7,000mAh battery).
Realme's battery tech brings other perks to the mix,
too. This phone, for instance, has
reverse charging capabilities of 27W, making it ideal for use as a power bank
for other electronic devices. Additionally, the company claims that the phone
can be plugged in and used while charging at 1% battery capacity.
The Realme P4 Power 5G appears to be a reasonably
well-equipped midrange Android phone in addition to its enormous battery. We
know that the phone has a 6.78-inch, 144Hz AMOLED display, a Dimensity 7400
chip from Mediatek, and 12GB of RAM (according to Geekbench listings). Realme
has not officially revealed all of the specs.
There is a triple camera system on the back, but the
specifics of the cameras haven't been made public.
On January 29, the Realme P4 Power 5G will make its debut in
India in TransOrange, TransSilver, and TransBlue. At this time, we do not have
any specifics regarding global availability.
